The brand

We make watches that carry stories.

Timepieces that preserve memory.

Astitva Horology is an Indian watch brand built around stories worth remembering. We create thoughtfully designed timepieces drawn from the moments, people and movements connected with India.

Our work begins with the story. The watch follows — its dial, typography, markers and finish shaped by what the story asks for, rather than by what a catalogue expects.

Astitva means existence, identity, being.

The first chapter · 1930

Dandi

A journey that became a symbol.

In 1930, a march across Gujarat became one of the defining moments of India's freedom movement. It was more than a walk to the sea. It stood for resolve, for resistance, and for what collective action could achieve.

Dandi is Astitva Horology's interpretation of that story. Not a replica of history. Not a souvenir. A contemporary timepiece built around a moment worth remembering.

Discover the story

A simple act.A lasting impact.

A journey. A moment. A memory.

12 March 1930

The journey begins

A march that began with purpose and gathered meaning with every step.

The march

A growing movement

A simple act became a powerful expression of resistance.

06 April 1930

Dandi

The journey reached the coast. An act became a movement.

From story to timepiece

The story does not stop at the name.

Every element of Dandi was considered as part of the narrative: the composition of the dial, the typography, the markers, the colour, the finish. Nothing is there because a watch is expected to have it.

Every element has a reason to exist.

The route drawn across the dial, marked at each end.

The route

The journey is drawn across the dial as a single line, its two ends marked and its course punctuated by resting points. It reads as a map before it reads as decoration.

The upper dial with ASTITVA HOROLOGY, the 12 numeral and the DANDI signature.

The typography

Two numerals carry the dial — the 12 above and the 03 to the right — set against a full minute track. The brand and the model are printed in spaced serif capitals, in the register of a document rather than a logo.

Faceted markers at nine o'clock beside the start of the route.

The markers

A small group of faceted markers sits at nine o'clock, catching light against the ivory surface. They give the dial a point of stillness beside the movement of the route.

The lower dial with the year 1930 at six o'clock and MADE IN BHARAT along the chapter ring.

The year

1930 sits at six o'clock, split across two lines in the same warm orange as the numerals. It dates the story without turning the dial into a plaque.

The polished stainless steel case and crown.

The finish

A polished stainless steel case with a domed profile and a fluted crown, paired with a linen strap and contrast stitching. Designed for everyday wear, and for keeping.

The complete DANDI timepiece.
The dial

Where the story begins.

An ivory dial carrying the model signature, a full minute track and two orange numerals. The composition was developed around the story rather than adapted to it.

Astitva

What story deserves to be remembered?

We don't begin by asking what watch we can sell. We begin with a different question — and that question shapes everything that follows.

  • The dial.
  • The case.
  • The typography.
  • The hands.
  • The colours.
  • The details.

Why Astitva

Not made for trends.

We don't add historical elements to make a watch look Indian. We look for meaning first, then design around it.

We don't recreate historical objects. We interpret them.

We don't intend to build a catalogue of hundreds of watches. We intend to build a small number of timepieces around stories worth keeping.
